This position is part of the NY Legal Department, which in turn is part of the Global Legal Department of Barclays Capital.
- Contracts for leasing, subleasing, design and construction and building arrangements; property management agreements; collocation agreements; data center agreements
- Commercial contracts covering the following areas: technology, e-commerce, human resources; IT and Non-IT procurement
- Acquisitions and divestitures
The lawyer is responsible for his or her own files. The lawyer must be confident in dealing with senior managers and suppliers and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
The candidate will be responsible for continuing and building on the legal relationship with CRES, in particular, our internal real estate management function, but is expected to be able to handle a wide variety of commercial contracts.
- 5-10 years experience
- BA/JD from a top law school
- Team player
- Good interpersonal skills

- Demonstration of business acumen and ability to influence others
- Confidence to tackle wide range of legal issues
- Good understanding of commercial real estate markets; construction laws, AIA forms, design and construction and property management agreements
- Willingness to do work outside of core area of expertise.
- Financial services experience a plus
- Awareness of the role of legal risk management within a financial institution a plus
- 3-5 years in house experience a plus
